The world’s first luxury plant light, the Aspect, has struck a balance between a high precision photosynthetic spectrum and supreme lighting quality that is traditionally reserved only for museums and galleries.  But this discovery didn’t happen overnight.  The Aspect is the result of volumes of plant and lighting research and countless series of testing.  We did all this because as plant lovers who take pride in our homes we wanted something new. Most importantly, we wanted it done right.

Features

There are a few features that make our products stand out from all of the rest, the most important being our spectrum.  Our warm white spectrum stands out among our competitors’ because we know interior design is important to you! The Aspect is the ideal light for both supporting your plants and displaying them beautifully indoors. With a color temperature of 3000K and a color rendering index (CRI) value of 97, the Aspect grow light promises a professional level of color accuracy usually reserved for photographers and art galleries.

Our specially designed warm white LEDs are then set inside our uniquely sleek and modern pendant fixtures which are each carefully inspected before being shipped out of our Bethlehem, PA location.  The design and development of the Aspect has been a long and meticulous process, but the beautiful results have made it more than worth it.

Crash Course: Photosynthetic Spectrums 101

Artificial lighting options for indoor gardeners can sometimes be confusing. A simple search will turn up hundreds of different products. These range from red/blue LED lights, incandescent bulbs, HID systems, fluorescent bulbs and even plasma light!  The Aspect is unlike all of these technologies. It is different because it was made for your home décor, not commercial applications.

Grow Light Science

Plants are able to absorb nearly all wavelengths of light, but the process is very inefficient and a waste of electric. It was discovered that only a narrow range of blue wavelengths, between 440nm – 460nm, and red wavelengths, between 630nm – 680nm, are easily absorbed by chlorophyll and effectively used for photosynthesis. The result of this discovery lead to highly efficient red/blue LED lighting to take command of the grow light industry.

This is great news for commercial growers, but nothing was created for residential use until now. We created the Aspect to produce wavelengths that correspond with photosynthesis yet function as interior lighting.

The Aspect is unique because it creates light using a balance of blue, green and red. We focused on a 1:4 ratio of blue to red light for healthy root and stem development. This ratio is critical because blue light supports root development and dense plant growth, while red light supports plant growth and flowering. An unbalanced spectrum will cause deformation, elongation, or a weak root system. We also provided enough far-red light (680+ nm) to enhance the photosynthetic efficiency of other wavelengths using a process called the Emerson effect.

Fluorescent lights (below)

are popular for small plants and starting seedlings. They often do not produce enough red light to support most plants. These bulbs also contain harmful mercury and have a short lifespan.

High-intensity discharge and metal-halide lights (right)

are popular bulbs used in large commercial grow operations. These bulbs consume the most electric and produce the highest amounts of light and heat. This results in very expensive electric bills for the entire life of each light.

Luxury Meets Utility

The level of precision that goes into developing an effective grow light is of the upmost importance. The more precisely a spectrum pinpoints the most effective peaks for photosynthesis the less power it requires for plants to grow.  The Aspect is capable of doing with a fraction of the watts that are typically required by traditional grow lights because of its precision.  There is no need to sacrifice looks for performance.  It’s effective, it’s beautiful – it’s the first luxury plant light.

    Do you ship to Singapore? The electrical inputs here is 220 volt, so can your products be used here?

  • Hi,
    Congratulations on your project!
    I always thought that the best indoor lightening for replacing the sunlight is the white light in the ranging from 500-5550 K.
    Yours are in the rang of 3000 K, but with special features, right?

      All of our lights have a 3000k color temperature which is a warm white. It is way more inviting when placed in your home than the 5000+k lights which put off a more blue light. The photosynthetic spectrum for our lights is different than that of 5000k lights but is just as efficient if not more because of the integration of red into the spectrum. The most important aspect for plants is their ability to absorb the light which is the red and blue light in the spectrum.

      We designed our lights to not only be effective in growing plants but also to look great in your home. We designed it to be aesthetically pleasing with a 3000k color temp and a 97CRI value which can not be found on the market. Your more traditional grow lights (red and blue light) may be more efficient for plant growth but would not look good inside your home. Let us know if you have any additional questions!

    Can you buy replacement bulbs for these?

    • Hello Greg! The Aspect is actually a COB light (Chip on Board) which means there’s a LED chip mounted directly to the aluminum body. These lights are rated to last 15yrs running at 16hrs/day. They will not need to be replaced during the lifetime of the light and we offer a 5yr warranty so if anything goes wrong within the 5 years we will replace your light with no charge. After the 90,000hrs the light will run at 70% efficiency which is not enough power for plant growth.

  • Although these lights have an extremely long life span, what happens when the light burns out. Purchase a whole new set up? Or are replacement bulbs/repairs available?

  • I don’t see any info about lux output here. What is the intensity of light for your fixture?

      The lux of the light varies at different distances but the amount of lumens is 3000lm for the Large Aspect and 1500lm for the Small Aspect

      The amount of lumens is 3000lm for the Large Aspect and 1500lm for the Small Aspect. These numbers are published on the individual product pages along with other light output specs.
